Weddings in India are basically all about great booze, memorable photos, and week-long celebrations. Leading up to the big day are the pre-wedding photo shoots and the friendly pictures around wedding themes. In fact, people go to great lengths in choosing the right photographers to cover their most important day.

Even for the guests, getting clicked at a wedding function is a norm. Don’t most women like to get clicked at their BBF’s wedding, so that they can post it later on social media for fabulous comments (or trolls, these days)?

Interestingly, it has become imperative to the wedding celebrations that people get clicked while enjoying the beautiful memories. But have you ever wondered that someone would actually be clicking and collecting your pictures for some other reasons, which you may never be aware of? Sounds crazy, right? But this just happened in Vadakara town in Kerela.

Weddings have turned into a nightmare for the women of this town, after a shocking incident came to light. A Kerela wedding photo studio called Sadayam Shoot & Edit, which is a popular choice for covering family events and weddings, came under fire after being accused of morphing the faces of women for illegal use.

Sadayam studio specializes in wedding photography. It has recently come to notice that they used photographs of women taken during their shoots for pornographic use and content.

This shocking revelation came after one of the victims saw her morphed photograph going viral on social media, in the most horrifying way, of course. The woman who spotted her morphed image, which was taken at a wedding, has been left traumatised and scared ever since.

After her frightful nightmare came to light, thousands of women in Kerala have been left worried as they hired the same photographers or were clicked by them at other functions they have attended. Now they are unsure whether their pictures too were used falsely for pornographic websites.

Soon after that, the woman victim lodged a complaint against the owners of the studio in Vadakara town of Kozhikode district.

The two owners, Dineshan and Satheeshan, have since been arrested and the studio has been sealed by the Kerala police. The accused have also confessed to their hideous crime of morphing the photographs of around 40,000 women!

Sadayam studio has been sealed after the police recovered several documents which confirmed the crime. Another third person involved in the crime, Bibeesh, is absconding.

This situation has certainly created a lot of panic and distrust amongst people who book such wedding photographers, especially if they are the popular ones.

Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has ordered the Superintendent of Police to form a special investigation team to probe this matter. Even the Kerala State Women’s Commission has initiated a case over the matter.

This frightening incident surely leaves us with a lot of goosebumps and makes us wonder whether we can really trust anyone clicking our pictures at such important events.

These wedding photographers must be brought to severe punishment by the law. What do you think their punishment should be?
