Actor Prakash Raj has come up with a shocking detail about not getting any work in Bollywood. The National Award-winning actor has opened about how his political comments have directly affected his work in Bollywood.

In an interview given to the Print, the actor has claimed about not getting any role in Bollywood. He explained that Bollywood has not offered him any role since since he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He contended that since October last year, when he questioned the Prime Minister’s silence on the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh, he has been sidelined by the Hindi film industry.

Opposing the top BJP leadership, Prakash Raj is now campaigning against the party in the Karnataka assembly elections. Previously, in September Lankesh was shot dead outside her house in Bengaluru.

“There is no problem (with the film industry) in the south, but there has been no offer from the Hindi film industry since I started speaking out,” Raj quoted.

He also mentioned that he is not worried about the money since he has enough of that. The 53-year-old actor also quoted, “Gauri’s death disturbed me a lot… She was asking questions. When she was silenced, I felt guilty. Did we leave her alone in her fight? The more I question, the more attempts to silence me, be it (by) character assassination, threat or (by) trying to stop my work… it’s the BJP.”

He also raised questions on BJP president Amit Shah’s leadership stating:

“Why are we afraid of Amit Shah ji? What are his credentials as a leader? Have you (Shah) given one of the most pathbreaking, progressive ideas to the country? Have you brought the most scientific approach? His strength is he is a Chanakya. He can topple governments. He can win elections… Is this what I need?”

He further stated:

“Once you go there, it’s a trap… I am (already) in politics. I need not be an MLA. I need not be an MP. Politics is in political awareness… This political awareness is not just for two-three months. I have the patience. I am not here to change things overnight… I don’t want to form a party.”
