The surgical strike that India conducted on Pakistani land in 2016 is still active in Pakistan’s head and heart. Why do I say so? Pakistan Armed Forces spokesperson Major General Asif Ghafoor has said something about the same. Something which looks like a warning. Those of you do not remember, a Surgical strike by India on terrorist launchpads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) shocked and awed the whole world. It killed as many as 45 of terrorists and some 9 Pakistan Army-men. It was discussed on the international stage at the highest diplomatic levels. Now Pakistan threatens to launch ten surgical strikes in the response if India launches even one surgical strike.
Ghafoor, earlier in an interview, said:
“Pakistan Army is “ready for a war” but prefers the path of peace in the best interests of its people, as a response to Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat’s comment that India would “avenge” the death of its soldiers and take “stern action” against Pakistan.”
Ghafoor’s statement came while he was interacting with media persons in London, where he is accompanying Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on a visit.

He further added:
“Pakistan Army is a custodian of China Pakistan Economic Corridor and this mega project will strengthen the economy of the country. Pakistan Army wants to strengthen Pakistan’s democracy. General elections 2018 were most transparent ever in the history of the country.”
