The Narendra Modi’s government is about to complete its second year. And we all can proudly say that it was a decent run! India experienced a step towards progress and development. Modi’s tours across the globe made India recognizable world wide.
Citizens of India made a right choice. Here is why:
1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi adopted a campaign and started #SelfieWithDaughter trend on Twitter.
India is a country where far fewer daughters are born each year than sons. Though there have been many campaigns that supported save the girl child agenda, Modi took this to another level where he asked listeners to Tweet photos of themselves and their daughters. His encouragement set #SelfieWithDaughter trending worldwide. And the results were fantastic!

2. Modi took an initiative for ‘Make in India’ program.
This was an initiative take by Modi to encourage multinationals as well as domestic companies to manufacture their products in India. This program enhanced the ease of doing business within the country. The program aims to make the nation a manufacturing hub. ‘Make in India’ initiative put another feather in Modi’s cap.

3. ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ aimed at a clean nation.
On 2 October 2014, PM Modi launched the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. This initiative, launched on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, spread the message to prioritize hygiene and civic sense. People coming from abroad complained about the filth in India. Hence, this made Modi propose the idea of cleaning the nation. He also nominated big names to to give this program a start.
PM Modi himself stepped up with a broom.
And this initiative gave great results.
4. Modi focused on promoting tourism.
Various tourism advertisements were released on radio, television etc. A major action plan targeted tourism and aimed to make India a world class travel destination. Many underrated states were brought into notice, like Uttar Pradesh. Visa-on-arrival service for all leading nations was a key step in this direction. Reportedly, growth has been observed in the number of foreign tourist arrivals after the Modi government came to power.
5. There was improvement the country’s foreign policy.
PM focused on improving relations with neighboring countries to bring in investord and promote ‘Make In India’. He invited several American leaders to be a part of the program when he went to the US. His visit to France urged Airbus, the aerospace giant, to explore manufacturing opportunities in India.
6. He took confidence-building measures in Kashmir.
Kashimir has always been a controversial topic. It is an integral part of India but has a long list of complaints against previous governments – both Center and State. Modi seemed to build confidence in the people of Kashmir. Modi decided to spend Deepawali with Kashmir flood survivors. After a long time, an Indian politician managed to establish a connect with the Kashmiri people.
7. PM Modi implemented ‘Neighborhood First Policy’.
Narendra Modi implemented a policy to improve ties with immediate neighbors. Modi invited all heads of SAARC nations to his swearing-in ceremony. It was a smart move by Modi himself declaring to the world that no one does swearing-in in Asia like we do. It was the first diplomatic victory for Modi and India started taking itself seriously again.

8. Modi’s latest project – ‘Start up India’.
This is the most recent initiative PM Narendra Modi has taken. He unveiled his idea about the start ups in India and gave hope to many young, ambitious minds. This new project came with a view of encouraging the youth to “be job creators, not job seekers”. India is not so far now from becoming a developed nation soon!
Well, these are very few instances that have been listed above. There are many others like Jan Dhan Yojna, creation of NITI Aayog to replace Planning Commission, campaign for building public toilets, etc. All these works make us expect that there is something much more in our PM’s baggage for India. In not even two years, he has proved himself to be the PM we always needed.
