Haryana has topped as the state which houses the maximum number of Japanese firms.
They are 305 firms in the state followed by Maharashtra (203), Tamil Nadu (192), Karnataka (190) and Delhi (145).

It is believed that the increase has been largely due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomacy.
In 2014, Modi visited Japan and has stressed that Japan is a key partner in Make in India Initiative”—a programme aimed at boosting India’s manufacturing sector.
