Sending out a message to Pakistan, India said that they want good relations with the neighbouring country but not at the cost of its ‘pride, dignity and self-respect’.

The government added that it will ensure that our enemies cannot go scot-free as even minor incidents of terrorism have to be ‘treated as war’.

“We want good relations with all our neighbours. We want good relations with Pakistan too, but not at the cost of this country’s pride, dignity and self-respect,” said Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Talking about the Pathankot attack, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said security has been stepped up on the borders.

Responding to a debate during which the government came under attack over handling of the Pathankot attack, Parrikar added that till now it has been not found through which route the attackers of Pathankot came but six terrorists were involved in the attack.

However, National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigators had found only four bodies.

In an another development, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz met for breakfast on the sidelines of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) ministerial meeting in Nepal’s Pokhara.

Swaraj and Aziz will hold official dialogue later in the day with each other where the January 2016 Pathankot Air Base terror attack is likely to be raised.

Sartaj Aziz earlier told the media that he is ready to discuss anything his Indian counterpart.
