A Samajwadi Party hoarding has claimed that PM Modi ordered the surgical strike only after consulting with SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, as per a media report.
The hoarding was put up at Novelty Chowk in Merrut by Mohammed Shamsher Malik, the district president of the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha.

The hoarding thanked Indian Army for the surgical strikes, and Mulayam for giving such advice.
In an indirect reference to BJP-led Centre, it said: “The Indian Army which carried out the strike and enhanced India’s pride globally are heroes; those who play toxic politics in the name of the Army are zeroes.”

The media report quoted Malik as saying, that being a defence minister in the past, Netaji (Mulayam) knows what is going on at border and how terrorists’ infiltration could be curbed.
When asked how he know about such a confidential information, he said his senior leaders in the district share what they discussed with leaders in Lucknow and Delhi, the report said.

He said the common man must know the reality, about who advised the Union government on such a bold step.
Few days backs, BJP supporters had erected large hoardings in Varanasi, Lucknow, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and other cities claiming it as an achievement of the Narendra Modi government and stressing that the strikes have given a befitting reply to Pakistan for terror attacks at Uri and Pathankot Army bases.

Hoardings depicting PM Narendra Modi as Lord Rama, Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif as Ravana and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal as Indrajit also called Meghanada (mythological figure in Ramayana as the son of king Ravana) have also been put up in Varanasi.

There have been allegations by the Opposition that the BJP-led NDA government wanted to politicise and electorally exploit the surgical strikes. The State is expected to go to the Assembly polls in less than four months.
