Should Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan get a Nobel Peace Prize for his extraordinary ‘peace gesture’ of releasing IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Vartaman? Think I am delusional? Well, I am not but a minister in Pakistan certainly is! It turns out that Pakistan’s Information and Broadcast Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain submitted a resolution in National Assembly soon after the release of captured Indian pilot.
In the resolution, he stated that Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan played a ‘sagacious’ role during the Indo-Pak tension and should be awarded Nobel Peace Prize. Think we are kidding? Have a look:

On March 1, Pakistani Twitter users demanded peace prize for the PM. Soon the #NobelPeacePrizeForImranKhan became viral. People were demanding the prize for Imran Khan on the ground: “Nobel Peace Prize for 2020 for his peace efforts and dialogues in the Asian region on diverse conflicts (e.g. Pakistan-India, Afghanistan-USA, Middle East etc.)”. Here are some of the tweets from our neighbors:

Indians, however, couldn’t wrap their heads around this demand. Naturally, they came up with endless humor to justify the ridiculousness of the situation. Journalists, celebs, and common people, all shared their reaction on this demand. Here are some of the comments:
Pakistan’s Information and Broadcast Minister Chaudhary Fawad Hussain submits a resolution in National Assembly. Apparently, he thinks Imran Khan should get the Nobel Peace Prize.
Read the resolution. Have a great weekend. Don’t blame me. I didn’t make this up. pic.twitter.com/JWMidnWmAF

Nobel prize for @ImranKhanPTI ? you must be kidding! The only persons who deserve a peace prize are the poor villagers on either side of LOC who have suffered from relentless bombing bw two hostile neighbours, yet stayed calm and human (a 5 and 9 month old killed today)

Heard the Pakistan Parliament passed a resolution recommending Imran Khan’s name for Nobel Peace Prize. I fully Support this move as it is really impossible to find so many terrorists living peacefully under a country’s protection. #NobelForImran #IronyForHumanity #GaddarList

I think people are getting confused over Pakistan demanding a Nobel Peace Prize for Imran Khan, actually those clowns wanted it be the Noble Piss Prize since most Pakistanis were pissing in their pants after India’s Air Strikes on Terrorist camps and Imran pissed the most. 🤣🤣🤣

“A motion was submitted in Pakistan’s National Assembly Secretariat on Saturday calling for Prime Minister Imran Khan to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in “de-escalating” tensions between India & Pak” – My words “Samay se pehle n aukat se jada kisi ko nahi milta”

The question is: ‘Are the Indians right in mocking this demand?’ If you see a few of the recent situations then you might tend to agree with Indian Twitterati. On the day IAF Wing Commander Abhinanda was released, Pakistan blatantly violated ceasefire that injured and killed CRPF personnel. Furthermore, during a recent interview with foreign media, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said:
‘Pakistan is not sure of Jaish’s involvement in the Pulwama terror attack.’
However, when the interviewer persisted that the terror group has claimed the responsibility for Pulwama attack then he said that they have contacted Jaish leadership and they are denying any responsibility. Take a look:
Today, in a interview to BBC, FM qureshi mistakenly admits they are in contact with masood azhar. pic.twitter.com/UP0tdQLlkm
— Bajkaka🌵 (@CulturalIndian) March 1, 2019
Also, in another interview he said this about Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar:
‘He is in Pakistan according to my information, he is very unwell. He is unwell to the extent that he can’t leave his house.’
In this scenario, asking for peace prize for a PM whose Minister is so sure about activities of a terror outfit seems ironic. Furthermore, there is no denying the fact that there is a role international pressure behind this ‘peace gesture’ of Pakistan. What do you think about this Nobel Prize demand for Imran Khan?
