There is hardly a second chance in operations related to espionage. You miss one, you may never get another. So when India lost its golden opportunity to eliminate Dawood Ibrahim, consequences should not be unexpected.

ISI, the intelligence agency of Pakistan, may have shifted India’s most wanted man from Karachi to Muri.

Muri is in the northern part of Pakistan, in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region. It is around 150 kms to the north of Islamabad and some 50 kms from the PoK territory. ISI, reportedly, has a safe house in Muri.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is where most of Pakistan’s terrorist activities take place, whether on behalf of it or against it.

Dawood's new home

According to Zee News, his wife and younger daughter may have shifted with him.

Just a few days ago, the Indian government claimed that they have confirmation of the fact that Dawood was leading a peaceful life in a high-profile Karachi neighbourhood.

India released a dossier containing nine postal addresses of the underworld don, one of which was in the posh Clifton area of Karachi where close to the residence of Bilawal Zardari, son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former President Asif Ali Zardari.

According to the dossier, Dawood has three Pakistani passports – first one issued in Rawalpindi (No.G-866537), second in Karachi (No. C-267185) and a third one which was also issued in Karachi (No. KC-285901).

But it appears that India made a blunder with the addresses.

Pakistani daily The Nation reports that one of the addresses mentioned in the dossier is of Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN, Dr Maleeha Lodhi.

“If this is the same house as mentioned in the Indian dossiers, then that is wrong,” senior Pakistani journalist Mariana Babbar told The Hindu. “It has been with Ms. Lodhi’s family for decades, built by her parents in the early 1970s.”

The Hindu reports that the address “Margalla Road, P-6/2, Street No. 22, House No. 29, Islamabad,” could be wrong because there is no ‘P’ sector in Islamabad.

An Indian official denied that the dossier was to be handed over to Pakistani NSA Sartaz Aziz by his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.

Dawood, is wanted in connection with a number of cases including the 1993 Bombay Bomb Blasts. Pakistan has been consistently saying that Dawood is not living in Pakistan.
